Inspired
by the sound of power trio formations Luama conceives O Bárbaro as an
album to make people wake up to true music and poetry.
“We opted for an unusual recording process. We use large rooms recording
all instruments and voice at the same time. This makes the music sound
dynamic and alive. The way we've done is the way great artists such as
Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Tim Maia, Jorge Benjor, recorded for a few
decades”, says Luama.
Produced by Walter Antunes, all the songs on this album are by Luama,
who sings and plays guitar. There are poems by Blake, Rimbaud, Castro
Alves, Cruz e Sousa, Emerson. Ronaldo Gama plays bass, Rodney
Nascimento, drums and Felippe Pipeta, trumpet.
"These songs are an alert to wake up to the real and historical
importance of music and poetry in the world," says Luama.
